Happy New Year! I hope you had a wonderful Christmas time a safe and Happy New Year. Finally I came out of my cave, once again to start painting. Holidays don't sit good on me and probably to many of us women with husbands and kids. This is the time of the year in which we work twice and even three times more than usual.
We started the year with snow, lots of snow here in Detroit, and much more where I live, about an hour north of Detroit. The kids as of yesterday back to school and me finally back to my studio, painting like crazy for the New York show next month, gosh time flies!
Anyways, this is my new painting for the year, a small, very loose and colorful (as always! =]) oil painting of a mother and daughter shopping at the mall. I find myself painting with more color than usual when the weather is cold and there is still snow on the ground. I guess the extreme white landscape triggers something on me that says 'more color is too white out there!'
Great things and lots of plans for this brand new years. More galleries coming up to represent my works and hopefully more sales. |
