I wanted to paint something today for my blog and my daily painting website. I feel like I've abandoned my daily paintings lately! I've being so busy with the last minute details for the New York show, that I haven't had time for almost anything else. My time is so short these days that I just wanted to relax and paint without pressure, and I wanted to do this piece for quite a while. I found this lady sitting on the sand at the Stoney Creek Park here in Michigan. I thought the whole scene was interesting. Lots of blues so quite a challenge since blue is one of the colors I don't really like too much... don't ask! it goes way back in my life... anyways this was certainly a relaxed painting, she seems relaxed, sitting there on a warm afternoon, on the last few days of summer right before the beaches get closed for the season and I so needed to be her today, just that, sitting while having a beer (that's what I think she was having) just doing nothing but enjoying the moment.
